The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is slightly larger and improved compared to its predecessor.
It comes with a charger that attaches magnetically and a stylish TPU strap – we have the light grey version. The band is available for purchase in Europe for €70.
This new model bears a strong resemblance to the Smart Band 7 Pro but offers some enhancements. The screen is larger at 1.74 inches, up from 1.64 inches, with a sharper resolution of 336ppi. Additionally, the display is brighter at 600 nits, which is 100 nits more than the previous model.
The battery capacity has also increased by almost 20%.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro operates on Xiaomi’s custom OS. Navigating the interface is simple – swiping right reveals the settings, swiping left shows different screen panels, swiping up brings up the apps grid, and swiping down displays notifications.
The band is well-crafted, constructed from high-strength fiber polymer but designed to resemble metal with a non-conductive vacuum metalization coating.
The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, and the band is water-resistant up to 5ATM, equivalent to 50 meters. However, Xiaomi advises against using it in hot showers or saunas and warns that the water resistance may diminish over time.
