Honor has entered into a partnership with Porsche Design, and the inaugural product resulting from this collaboration is the Magic V2 RSR. The RSR designation stands for RennSport Rennwagen, which translates to racing sports racing car, with the phone’s design drawing inspiration from the race track version of Porsche 911 cars.
Porsche Design has incorporated several stylish design elements into the exceptional foldable phone from Honor while maintaining a deluxe and tasteful appearance. The Magic V2 RSR exudes a premium feel right out of the box.
Although the unit arrives in a packaging similar to the regular Magic V2, the contents are more comprehensive and the accessories are of superior quality. Included is an Honor Magic Pen stylus that connects via Bluetooth.
The phone’s color is named Agate Gray, featuring a fiberglass panel on the back and a distinct Porsche Design element – the flyline. Despite the 50 MP main + 20 MP telephoto + 50 MP ultrawide camera setup remaining unchanged, the island is now a tetragon with a titanium edge, adding to its premium look. The top memory tier available for this phone is 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage, indicating that it will not be an inexpensive device.
The retail box includes a leather protective case that securely snaps onto the back panel. It also features an extension to protect the hinge in folded mode – the first case of its kind for a phone like this, offering solid protection without the need for additional front attachments. This allows for protection while still enjoying the benefits of the sub-10mm foldable design.
Additionally, the Magic V2 RSR includes two chargers and two USB-C cables, each with UK and EU adapters included, eliminating the need for attachments when traveling abroad. Both chargers support 66W output for the phone’s 5,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery.
Lastly, a separate luxurious case is provided for the Honor Magic Pen within the packaging, as the accessory does not magnetically attach to the Magic V2 phone. This makes it easier to keep track of, although it does add bulk.
In terms of performance, the Magic V2 RSR is anticipated to deliver results similar to the regular Magic V2. Stay tuned for our findings as the review process is currently underway!
