The Honor MagicBook 16 was first introduced in China in September, but a new version was unveiled at MWC 2024 that will be available globally. We have the MagicBook 16 Pro in our office and wanted to share a quick unboxing before diving into our review.
Despite being relatively new to the notebook market, Honor has been putting out competitively priced and well-built laptops.
The 16 Pro is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, and 32GB of RAM. It’s important to note that the RAM is soldered, making it crucial to get the right configuration from the start since upgrades won’t be possible later on. The SSD, on the other hand, is user-replaceable, with our model sporting a 1TB drive.
The laptop features a high-quality LCD IPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a brightness of at least 300 nits. Combined with the powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, the MagicBook 16 Pro is poised to deliver impressive gaming performance.
In terms of connectivity, the laptop offers 2x USB-C 3.2 ports, 2x USB-A 3.2 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a headphone jack. It charges via one of the USB-C ports at a maximum of 65W. The battery capacity is 56Wh, which may be considered relatively low for a 16-inch device, but real-world testing will confirm its performance.
Weighing 1.86kg, the MagicBook 16 Pro is reasonably light for a 16-inch laptop, especially one with a dedicated GPU.
Be sure to check back for our comprehensive review, where we’ll assess its performance in thermal stress tests, battery life, and display quality.
