Mercedes is trying hard to blend in with the culture of modification, but we all liked that old-school Benz with dual oval-ish lamps. Isn’t it? We just reviewed the 2004 Mercedes E200 with Adnan Dhool, and we found that this German car is luxurious, comfortable, and reliable in its own way.

Mercedes Benz E200 – Overview

This was a standard trim level with the Elegance package, while Mercedes also offers an Avantgarde trim, which is much sportier. It comes with robust alloy wheels, a lowered height, and other small detailing that significantly characterizes it as an E-class.

Adnan bought this luxe sedan five years ago at a budget of 24 lacs. Previously, he was driving a Toyota Marc X. While making his purchase decision, he also considered the BMW 5 and 7 series but caught up with the idea of an expensive maintenance regime, eventually landing on the E200.

Power And Performance

This E-class has ample power, drawn from a robust 1.8-litre engine, a supercharged unit that delivers 120 kW of power and 240 Nm of torque. This rear-wheel drive is mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission offering a manual shift.

0-100 is done in 10 seconds or less, and it reaches a top speed of 227 km/h. Being a heavy sedan of around 1,570 kg, it gives a decent fuel average of 13 to 14 km on longer routes and 10 to 11 km within the city.

Interior and Comfort

The E200 has a spacious cabin and plenty of space in the back area. Still, its boot space doesn’t seem cramped at all. It has excellent legroom and headroom and an appropriate driving posture.

The interior gives you signature Mercedes vibes with wooden inlays, premium leather, and comfy cushioning. In short, it is a perfect family car with top-quality detailing.

Specs And Features

It is a fully loaded car that comes with options of airbags, a multi-function steering wheel, climate control, an outstanding stereo system, and a CD changer. However, a panoramic roof remains missing. Moving on to the exterior, it looks traditional with a curvy fascia, a beautiful color theme, and chrome detailing. This entry-level version is a full-fat E class that perfectly comes into the budget while providing all the necessary options and luxury in demand.
