In Pakistan, the first factor that consumers consider before buying a vehicle is its resale value. We’ve seen many vehicles fail in the Pakistani market just because of their bad resale value, one example being the Honda Pridor. This makes sense because no one wants to invest in a vehicle that will give them a hard time or a huge loss when reselling.

That’s why we’ve compiled this list of the best motorcycles, ranked from best to worst, according to their resale value.

Honda CD70

CD 70 - Atlas Honda

We all know that if we rank motorcycles according to their resale value, the CD70 will top the spot. The most selling and most demanded bike in Pakistan, it justifies its popularity. A small 72cc engine and light as paper, it pulls an economy of 50-55 Km/l.

Another reason why it has such a big used market is its mechanics and spare parts network; you can find its parts at almost any bike mechanic shop at dirt-cheap prices. The latest price for CD70 is 160K PKR, and for older models 2018-2022, you can find them for about 1.3-1.5 lacs PKR.

We recommend this bike, especially to students who have a limited budget for transportation or for those who just want a simple commuter option for their office. The CD is light on the pocket, easy to maintain, and the cheapest brand-new motorcycle that money can buy you in Pakistan.

Honda CG125

CG125 Red - Atlas Honda

Although it’s a vibration house and a highly uncomfortable bike, it still has the biggest motorcycle fanbase in Pakistan. That’s also the reason for exceptional resale value.

First of all, almost 80% of people buy it because of its iconic growling sound. Its torque, power, and pick are all up to the mark, and it is also the cheapest 125cc brand-new bike that money can get you.

Like the CD, CG’s parts are readily available in the local market, and mechanics’ availability is not an issue either. Its parts are a bit more expensive than those of CD70s but much cheaper compared to YBR, GS, or even GD.

Put it’s ad on Pakwheels, and you’ll start getting calls within an hour or so, and for instant cash, just sell it to any local used bike dealer. There’s a huge demand for used CG in Pakistan, especially in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi urban cities.

Yamaha YBR 125

YBR is also known for its smooth riding experience. It uses a 125cc OHC engine with a Balancer Shaft that works to counter the engine vibrations and results in an exceptionally smooth ride.

Besides a good riding experience, it’s packed with some good features, including self-start, parking lights, fuel gauge, and Trip B meter.

It uses youthful styling, especially the top variant, YBR-G, which is attractive for university and under-30 boys.

The resale factor of this bike is also great. Although there are separate dealers in the used market who deal in YBR and GS motorcycles, and you may not find them in as large numbers as CD and CG models, YBR will still sell readily in the market.

Suzuki GS150

GS is mostly bought by travelers, especially those who do northern trips and very long tours. The engine of this bike can literally last for eternity (only if driven with care and proper maintenance). Doing 100,000 Km on the odometer is not an issue for this engine. Again, this is only possible if you always use good quality genuine oil like ZIC and SGO and change it on time, after 1,000 Km exactly.

The comfort of this bike is not as good as YBR’s, but it is a lot better than CG’s and good enough that you can ride it continuously for 2-3 hours without hurting your back. The bike doesn’t have a balancer shaft, and you will feel some minor vibrations on the feet and back carrier.

This bike’s resale value is also good. There are specific consumers who will buy it, but it’ll sell easily on Pakwheels and to dealers.
