After announcing to resume the production of the “Special Purpose Kia Commercial Vehicle” Kia Shehroze, Dewan Farooque Motors Limited (DFML) comes with another major update. As per the company’s communication to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the automaker is gearing up to commence the production in this August.
The notification informed that DFML has entered into a toll manufacturing agreement with ECO-Green Motors Limited (EGML) for the production of EGML’s electric vehicle, the Honri-VE.
The Details
This agreement marks a pivotal step for DFML, positioning it at the forefront of electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing in Pakistan. A toll manufacturing agreement is a strategic collaboration where one company provides the design and materials for a product, while the other undertakes its production.
Under this agreement, DFML will manufacture the Honri-VE, boasting a range of 200km to 300km, for EGML. Production is slated to commence in August 2024, highlighting DFML’s commitment to timely execution and excellence in manufacturing.
DFML To Launch Kia Shehzore On June 4
This development comes on the heels of another significant announcement by DFML. Just a day before, the company revealed that it had resumed commercial production of the “Special Purpose KIA Commercial Vehicle,” known as KIA Shehzore.
Th roll out and launch ceremony for this vehicle is scheduled for June 4, 2024, marking DFML’s re-entry into the commercial vehicle market with a robust offering.
The development was also shared with Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today through a notice. DFML’s notice read
“By the grace of Almighty Allah, it has resumed the commercial production of Special Purpose Kia Commercial Vehicle with its product name Kia Shehzore and its roll-out/launch ceremony
This move marks a strategic step towards enhancing the automotive landscape in the country and catering to the evolving needs of consumers.
