Antique bikes have their own charm, and no one could understand it, but a biking enthusiast. We just reviewed a classic Honda CD 200 Roadmaster and believe us we were stunned with the quality of restoration it had. It is very rare that a more than two decades old bike gets this type of restoration. Lets tell you more about its moves and grooves.
Honda CD 200 – History
Honda launched its CD 200 Roadmaster in 1980 after the successful product runs of CD 175 and CD 185. With the launch of CD 200, the major aim of Honda was to penetrate into the European and North American market. For which it wanted a cruiser bike which can travel with excellence within the city and highways.
Since CD 175 and 185 were sportier bikes they had vibration issues although they had a very good pick and unmatchable top speed. But CD 200 came out with an edge in performance. It was nimble is drive and had a spectacular road handling with a haloed speeding.
Features and Restoration
CD 200 is a low-heighted motorcycle which contributed towards better stability. As far as power figures are concerned, this one can deliver a power of 16Hp and gain a top speed of 121 km/h, having a cruising speed of 90 – 97 km/h, as recommended by its manufacturer.
This restored bike was in a spilt seating design with modified footrest, coil overs, exhausted chrome, and changed engine seals. Almost everything was restored. Even a nice paint job has also been done to improve its aesthetics.
