Recently, we updated you about the launch of the electric hatchback Honri Ve in Pakistan. We decided to give it a test drive to let you know about its performance and road handling. Most importantly, being a plug-in EV, we were curious to check whether it can deal with range anxiety or not. Let’s check it out below.
Power Check
The boxy EV comes with an 18.5 kWh Ternary Lithium battery and a company-claimed range of 200km. The company-provided power figures are 40 hp (similar to that of GGV) and 84 Nm of torque, which looks quite average. While testing out practically, it never felt underpowered, but it is not as fast as the Haval H6. It provides instant torque during overtakes and a top speed of 100km/h, which is quite decent for a city drive.
In addition to the battery pack, Dewan Motors is providing a 3 kWh solar box that you can use as a power pack for additional range, providing a reasonable solution for your range anxiety.
Honri Ve Performance and Safety
Honri Ve has an average ground clearance and a comparatively stiff suspension, to which the OEM responded to improve during local assembling. Considering the roads of Karachi, this car didn’t have a body roll and provides precise maneuverability on bumpy roads.
As far as safety is concerned, this EV features two airbags, one on the steering and one on the dash. Furthermore, it has ABS, a front disc brake, a rear drum brake, parking sensors, a rearview camera, and a parking brake.
Interior Feels
As soon as you enter, the cabin looks pretty welcoming, with leather upholstery, a spacious cabin, and a futuristic dash. Blind spots are minimized with a wider windscreen and rear windshield. The seating position can be easily adjustable manually with better cabin insulation than the Suzuki Alto or Suzuki Wagon R. Also, its air conditioner works better than the previously reviewed Rinco Ariya. At the same time, you will feel an armrest missing from the cabin.
Verdict
With the launch of this electric car, Dewan is targeting a mass production line and a significantly improved EV charging infrastructure. We wish the OEM the best of luck and hope this comeback brings fortune to the Pakistani car market.
