Recently, MG introduced the 2.0 turbo variant in the HS’s lineup, and that variant is now a strong competitor of Jolion, Sportage, Oshan X7, 2008, and Tucson as well. We previously made the comparison with Sportage, and this is the follow-up with Tucson.

Pakwheels Unbias POV on Both Cars

Hyundai Tucson is a South Korean manufacturer’s crossover and a strong option in the market due to its Hyundai emblem. The overall car is designed for the family, very simple, yet practical, safe, and has lots of techs.

On the other hand, we’ve got MG HS 2.0 turbocharged, a newly launched variant by MG in the HS’s lineup with an extra horse add-on. HS is more geared towards people who love to do experiments and want something unconventionally awesome. Packed with hi-tech goodies, MG Pilot (pack of safety features), and a goddam beautiful look-at interior, MG is surely a considerable choice in a 9.3 million.

However, there’s almost a 700K PKR difference between both cars: Tucson costs 8.6 million PKR, and the HS 2.0 T costs 9.3 million PKR. While the HS has more horses and better torque, it’s definitely not cheap to run. Comparatively, Tucson has a better economy than the 2.0T HS.

The HS’s 226 HP is certainly a beast for a C-segment crossover. Tucson is also a considerable option, and it would not leave you feeling underpowered in city rides. But again, if you prefer power, the HS turbo could be your best choice, 0-100 in 9.3 seconds only.
