After a series of upticks, car sales (month-on-month) have again experienced a considerable nosedive. According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) report sales in this July have slashed by 36%, selling 8,589 vehicles in July 2024 compared to 13,284 vehicles in June’24.
Coming to year-on-year (YoY) sales reported a growth of 60%. Local car manufacturers managed to sell 8,589 cars last month compared to only 5,377 vehicles sold during the same period last year.
Two & Three wheelers
Highlighting motorcycle and three-wheeler sales, local bike makers witnessed a drop of 5% last month, reaching 84,993 bikes in July 2024 compared to 89,895 units in June’24. Atlas Honda sales declined by 12% last month, reaching 70,255 units last month against 80,204 units in June 2024.
Meanwhile, Pak Suzuki saw a jump of 5%, selling 1,643 units last month compared to 1,570 units in June 2024.
Trucks & Buses
Sales of trucks and buses witnessed a jump of 3% last month, with 307 units sold last month compared to 299 in June’24.
Company-Wise Sales Breakdown
Toyota Pakistan’s sales decreased significantly by 44%, selling 1,664 units last month compared to 2,957 vehicles in June 2024.
However, Honda Atlas sales narrate a same story, decreased by 15%, selling 931 units last month compared to 1,095 units in June 2024.
Pak Suzuki Motors Company sales reduced by 35%, selling 4,470 vehicles in July 2024 against 6,885 cars in June’24.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Nishat sales observed a remarkable down of 50%, selling 529 units last month compared to 1059 units in June 2024.
It is worth mentioning that sales numbers for Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton are not included in the report as they are not PAMA members.
Car-Wise Sales Breakdown
PSMC (Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company) sold 2,869 units of Alto, 96 units of Suzuki Cultus, 139 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 502 units of Suzuki Swift, 288 units of Suzuki Bolan, and 576 units of Suzuki Ravi.
Toyota Indus sold 1,106 units of Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla and 558 units of Fortuner and Hilux.
Honda Atlas sold 790 units of City and Civic, and 141 units of BR-V.
Hyundai Nishat sold 33 units of Elantra, 34 units of Sonata, 349 units of Porter, and 113 units of Tucson.
