Every month, we bring a detailed monthly PAMA report pertaining to the car sales translating the sales trend that local market has observed last month. For a series of months, the local car makers observed the consecutive downtrend, however, sales charts report some positive news, once or twice in 6 months. After April 2024, once again, car sales have witnessed a slight jump.

As per the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) report, month-on-month (MoM) car sales has increased by 4% last month, selling 10,949 last compared to 10,515 vehicles in April’24.

However, in a year-on-year (YoY) analysis, there’s been a staggering increase of 100%, thanks to the stability in Pakistani Rupee against mighty US dollar. Car manufacturers managed to sell 10,949 cars compared to 5,464 vehicles during the same period last year.

Two & Three wheelers

Similarly, motorbike and three-wheeler sales saw an impressive jump of 10% last month, reaching 118,811 units compared to 107,590 units in April 2024. Atlas Honda sales surged by 9%, reaching 103,297 units last month, up from 95,069 units in March 2024.

Meanwhile, Pak Suzuki experienced a slight increase of 1%, selling 1,696 units last month compared to 1,684 units in April 2024.

Trucks & Buses

Sales of trucks and buses experienced an increase of 8% last month, with 247 units sold last month compared to 229 in April 2024.

Company-Wise Sales Breakdown

Toyota Pakistan’s sales decreased by 1% increase in sales, selling 2,047 units last month compared to 2,065 vehicles in April’24.

Meanwhile, Honda Atlas sales surged by 18%, selling 1,187 units last month compared to 1,003 units in April 2024.

Pak Suzuki Motors Company’s sales increased by 0%, selling 6,010 vehicles in May 2024 against 6,000 cars in April’24.

Similarly, Hyundai Nishat sales didn’t observe any remarkable up or down, selling 683 units last month compared to 686 units in April’24.

It is worth mentioning that sales numbers for Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton are not included in the report as they are not PAMA members.

Car-Wise Sales Breakdown

PSMC (Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company) sold 4,062 units of Alto, 229 units of Suzuki Cultus, 253 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 714 units of Suzuki Swift, 447 units of Suzuki Bolan, and 305 units of Suzuki Ravi.

Toyota Indus sold 1,562 units of Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla and 485 units of Fortuner and Hilux.

Honda Atlas sold 1,049 units of City and Civic, and 138 units of BR-V.

Hyundai Nishat sold 108 units of Elantra, 298 units of Sonata, 214 units of Porter, and 298 units of Tucson.
