Car and bike makers are facing a significant downtrend in terms of combined sales and production. However, it is surprising to observe that motorcycle companies, including Atlas Honda, Pak Suzuki, and Yamaha Pakistan, look more aggressive in bringing installment offers compared to local automakers.

Earlier this month, Pakistan Suzuki produced a 0% markup installment offer for GR 150, allowing you to own the two-wheeler without adding burden to your pocket.

Yamaha’s Offer

In a recent update, Yamaha Pakistan joined the trend with a 12-month installment plan for Matt Orange YBR125G. Another perk that makes the offering more enticing is the 0% markup offer. It simply means you don’t need to spread the cost with extra charges in the term of interest.

The company’s social media post translated to a down payment of Rs. 162,000. However, monthly installments will be as low as Rs. 29,000, making the bike more easily accessible to enthusiasts—zero stress of large lump sum purchase.

Besides the offer and the possible ease for the buyers, the cumulative payment of Rs. 510,000 for a 125cc motorcycle over 12 months is astonishing, considering it’s a two-wheeler.

The Offer for GR 150

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) just made your dream bike a reality! Their social media post announces that the GR-150 is now available with easy monthly installments, zero markup, and only a 25% down payment.

The price of these two-wheelers, ranging from GR 150 to the said YBR125G, is highly expensive for daily commuters. The irony is that the bike company never bothers to mention the reason behind these back-to-back price jumps.

The primary factors driving up bike prices are import challenges, soaring raw material costs, and the PKR’s volatility against the USD. Despite claims of full localization, major bike manufacturers like Yamaha and Suzuki heavily rely on imported components. This direct correlation between the dollar exchange rate and bike prices means consumers are bearing the brunt of these economic pressures.
