According to analyst Jeff Pu, Apple might increase the RAM on its baseline iPhone 16 models this year. The new information is from Pu’s research note for Haitong International Securities, which details that all iPhone 16 series models, including the Pro versions, will come with 8GB RAM. This is a significant upgrade for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus as their previous models still had 6GB RAM. Additionally, the non-Pro iPhone 16 models will have faster Wi-Fi 6E connectivity support, a feature already present on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
Regarding the iPhone 16 Pro models, Pu suggests that Apple will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 5G modem instead of the X70 used in the 2023 iPhone 15 series. It’s worth noting that the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will still use the older X70 modem, while the faster and more efficient X75 will be limited to the Pro models.
