NordVPN is now entering the global eSIM market with its new service, Saily. This service will offer eSIMs to users regardless of their carrier, as long as their phones support the feature.

The service is currently in beta, and early access signups are available. The official launch of the app is expected later this year.

According to Vykintas Maknickas, Head of product strategy at Nord Security, Saily will provide users with the ability to avoid using public Wi-Fi networks they are not comfortable with. Users can choose from “hundreds of countries and dozens of plans” for mobile data deals.

eSIM cards are typically used by travelers and remote workers to reduce roaming charges. Nord Security also notes that some users may need an affordable data package in their own country after their prepaid plan runs out.

The new Saily app will compete with Airalo, a service that has been downloaded over 5 million times on Google Play and the App Store. Airalo provides virtual SIM cards for regions across the world with competitive data package prices.

Additionally, users will have the convenience of not having to purchase a SIM card in a new country with a different language and currency.
