Samsung recently rolled out the latest update, known as One UI 6.1, for the Galaxy S23 series, Z Flip5, and Z Fold5 foldables. This update introduced the new Galaxy AI functionality to the 2023 flagships. Following this, a security patch for April 2024 has now been released.

Currently, the firmware versions for this update are being rolled out in Europe.

The availability of this update will grow gradually, so if it’s not available now, you should expect to see it in the coming days. The update is around 350-400MB in size and the change log simply states: “The security of your device has been improved.” The major update for early 2024 was the One UI 6.1.

Reports suggest that the April patch is also reaching the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 trio, which received the One UI 6.1/Galaxy AI update. However, the Galaxy S23 FE and the two Tab S9 FE models are not included in this update.

The Galaxy AI features will be free until the end of 2025. If you’re interested in these features but don’t want to purchase a Galaxy S24 phone, you can consider buying one of last year’s models.

In the US, Samsung is offering carrier deals for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 with up to $1,000 trade-in credit, along with instant discounts. The Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra are available with direct discounts. You can check out these deals on the Samsung online store:
