Samsung recently showcased numerous new AI capabilities during the Galaxy Unpacked event, specifically highlighting the Galaxy AI suite featured on the Galaxy S24 series. To delve deeper into these new features, Samsung Newsroom released a series of videos covering the advanced Galaxy AI functions.

One of the standout features, Live Translate, allows for two-way, real-time voice translations in 13 different languages directly from the Samsung Phone app. These languages include Chinese, English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Thai, and Vietnamese, with promises of additional languages in future updates. Samsung emphasizes that all translations are done on the device for secure phone calls.

Another notable feature showcased was Transcript Assist, which can transcribe, translate, and summarize voice recordings within the Samsung Voice Recorder app. This feature even has the ability to differentiate between different speakers within a single recording.

Chat Assist, a feature similar to Live Translate, provides message translations in 13 supported languages within the native Samsung Messages app as well as third-party messaging apps. It also offers suggestions for different writing styles and tones based on the conversation.

Note Assist is designed to help summarize notes within Samsung Notes, offering automatic formatting with various template options.

The generative edit feature allows users to highlight objects in images, resize or move them, or completely remove them with an AI-powered content-aware fill. Additionally, the edit suggestion feature can automatically enhance images by adjusting their color profile or removing reflections.
