When comparing Samsung’s foldables to their Chinese competitors, it’s clear that they are much thicker, which has a negative impact on the user experience. The Honor Magic V2 measures 10.1 mm thick when closed, while the Galaxy Z Fold5 is a hefty 13.4 mm.
However, there are rumors that Samsung is finally addressing this issue. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6 is rumored to be the thinnest foldable from Samsung yet, measuring in at 11 mm when closed. While this is not groundbreaking overall, it’s certainly an improvement for the Korean company.

It’s important to note that the image above is not of the actual Fold6, but rather an approximation based on the rumored dimensions. As of now, this is an unconfirmed rumor, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Nevertheless, this change is long overdue for Samsung, and we hope it comes to fruition. The Galaxy Z Fold6 is expected to be revealed in late July alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Galaxy Ring, which was first teased in January at the Galaxy S24 launch event.
