Recently, Saudi Arabia unveiled a domestically produced electric patrol car specifically designed for the security fleet of the Holy Sanctuary. Showcased at the World Defense Expo 2024 in Riyadh, the police car attracted significant attention, with over 750 exhibitors from 61 countries in attendance.
Features and Cost of the Police Car
The state-of-the-art patrol car comes with a powerful engine capable of generating 1234HP and accelerating from 0 to 100 in just 2 seconds. With a range of 833km per charge and the ability to charge 300km in 15 minutes, it is well-suited for security fleets in desert and challenging terrains. The Middle East General Manager of Lucid revealed that they plan to manufacture 800 cars priced at 392,000 Saudi Riyals each.
AI and Drone Features for Criminal Detection
In addition to its speed and durability, these police cars are equipped with state-of-the-art security features powered by AI. They feature six cameras and drone technology for capturing gunfire, traffic violations, facial recognition, and license plate identification to aid in detecting criminal behavior and enforcing security laws.
Patrol Car and Environmental Initiatives
The patrol car also contributes to the Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative by effectively reducing carbon footprints in the environment, in line with the efforts led by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Saudi Arabia is undoubtedly making strides in improving the lives of its residents through the combination of technology and green initiatives. Hopefully, similar initiatives will be taken by other responsible authorities as well.
