Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) has achieved its highest-ever 4-wheeler sales in January 2024, signaling a promising development for Pakistan’s automotive sector.
The company proudly announced the sale of 967 units, surpassing all previous records and marking a notable surge from the 436 units sold during the same period last year. This remarkable increase in sales can be attributed to Sazgar Engineering’s strategic introduction of Hybrid HEV and HAVAL vehicles in November 2024.
This achievement is particularly significant considering the company’s modest sales figures in December 2023, where only 29 units were sold. The consistent growth since January 2022 reflects Sazgar Engineering’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
Amidst a competitive market landscape, the company has demonstrated resilience and adaptability. This accomplishment not only highlights Sazgar Engineering’s market prowess but also indicates a positive outlook for Pakistan’s automotive industry in the coming years.
Toyota Sales Increase by 304%
Following Sazgar Engineering, Toyota Pakistan has also observed a surge in its sales. After facing a sales and production crisis, Toyota Indus Motors (IMC) is now showing signs of substantial recovery amidst the prevailing challenges.
According to a report from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), Toyota Pakistan has witnessed a remarkable 304% increase in sales, with 3,570 units sold last month compared to 684 vehicles in December 2023. Among these, Toyota Indus managed to sell 1,207 units of Corolla and Yaris, along with 132 units of Fortuner and Hilux.
Earlier, IMC had experienced strong sales contraction and back-to-back production shutdowns due to low inventory. The import restrictions imposed by the State Bank of Pakistan also impacted the car industry in Pakistan amid the country’s economic challenges.
