Following numerous user complaints regarding their Xiaomi/Poco/Redmi phones experiencing issues after a system update, the company released an official statement on X, acknowledging a problem with the latest plugin update.
Upon installation, the phone may get stuck in a bootloop cycle, with no way out other than performing a factory reset. It seems that this issue is specific to MIUI-operated smartphones, leading to the problem.
According to a report from Lavanguardia, the bootloop problem stems from a MIUI system app. Allegedly, Xiaomi was meant to update the app version for users on HyperOS, but the update unintentionally ended up affecting MIUI devices, leading to an incompatibility issue resulting in the bootloop situation.
Xiaomi mentioned that they are working to address the problem, but it appears to only impact a small number of users. Unfortunately, the only solution is a factory reset done by Xiaomi’s service centers, which will result in the loss of all data.
