At CES’24, all eyes were on the Afeela concept car as it made a grand entrance with a PS5 controller. Sony and Honda have joined forces to create the Sony Honda Mobility EV concept car.

Afeela: A First Look

The Afeela electric sedan opts for a more understated approach, with smooth curves and a sleek profile instead of bold and aggressive styling. Unlike competitors like the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air, Afeela focuses on comfort rather than making a flashy statement.

Design Elements

The eye-catching design incorporates 3D technology and a PlayStation5 Dual-sense controller, with a 3D dashboard display spanning door to door, powered by Epic Games’ Unreal 5.3 Engine to keep passengers informed and entertained throughout the journey. Additional features include a yoke-style steering wheel with ambient lighting and computer-aided ADAS features like Lane Keep, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Emergency Braking.

The Interior

Inside the Afeela’s cabin, the spacious and minimalistic design, coupled with air suspension, ensures a smooth and quiet ride.

Afeela’s Engine

This self-driving car boasts All-Wheel Drive with a twin 180 KW motor, delivering a total power of 483 HP. It also features fast DC charging for its 91 KWH battery. Sony Honda Mobility has partnered with Microsoft for Azure Ai-cloud scale computing to aid in Afeela’s development.
