The Pakistani market has always remained faithful to the Suzuki Alto, which has maintained its legacy of providing the best fuel economy at the most affordable price. Here, we bring you the 9th generation Alto hatchback, which has improved looks, technology, and comfort.
Alto – Overview
Suzuki Alto hybrid was launched globally in 2021 and caught buyers’ attention for its unique selling propositions. This 9th-generation model was launched almost after 9 years of production. It received several cosmetic and performance upgrades, but its hybrid technology was a highlight. AGS was discontinued, and this compact version of the Suzuki Hustler was assembled.
Upgraded Looks
This 2023 Suzuki Alto X-package features drastic changes in looks. Old front lamps were replaced with new oval headlights with LEDs, while halogen lamps are also offered in lower trims. Features like a front camera, rear wiper, high-mounted brake light, parking sensors, and rear-view cameras were included.
The one we reviewed was in a dual-tone combination of white and burgundy. Though it didn’t stand out, it looked different on the positive side. Smart entry door handles were there, and 14-inch wheels were added to infuse bulkiness to the overall look.
Comfy Interior
The Previous Alto was inferior in comfort, providing no headrest, an obsolete speedometer, and a monotonous tone. The new one has a curvy dash, unique air vents, a modern odometer, MID, power mirrors, and increased cabin space. The roof liner looks well-padded, and a multi-spoke steering wheel enhances the overall style philosophy.
What defines this new Alto is its abundance of ADAS features, including four airbags, collision warning, 360-degree camera, collision warning system, rear assist, and parking help. Moreover, digital climate control, USB ports, multi-media controls, push start, and heated seats are a few other noticeable options.
In addition, it comes with a decent-sized boot space and split rear seats to enhance the luggage area.
Engine and Pricing
The 2023 Japanese Alto, like the previous one, has a 660 CC engine paired with a hybrid motor. However, the AGS transmission has been replaced by a CVT. Its biggest trade-off is 35/L, which is offered at a price tag of 35 to 36 lacs.
