We’ve recently obtained the Honor Magic 6 Lite, a mid-range smartphone priced at €400. It features a 6.78” 1220p-class display (10-bit, 120Hz) and a 108MP main camera. As we continue with our review, we wanted to share our initial assessment of the battery life.
The Magic6 Lite comes with a 5,300mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging. It is equipped with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a 4nm chip released in 2022 and built on Samsung’s 4LPE node. By way of comparison, the Magic5 Lite had a 5,100mAh battery with 40W charging, Snapdragon 695, and a 6.67” 1080p-class display.
With an Active Use score of 13:08, the Honor Magic6 Lite ranks high among mid-range smartphones. It outperforms models such as the Moto Edge 40 Neo and Galaxy A54 (both with 5,000mAh batteries) and is on par with the iPhone 15 (3,349mAh).
One area of concern is gaming, as the 6:33 battery life during gaming is on the lower end. This is the first Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 phone we have reviewed, so we are eager to see what the Adreno 710 GPU has to offer. However, the combination of this GPU with a higher than FHD+ screen may have impacted battery endurance.
Currently, the Magic6 Lite is available for sale on HiHonor.com at €400 for an 8/256GB unit. It only comes with a USB-C cable, but in Germany, a 66W SuperCharge adapter is available for €1 (normally worth €30) – more power than the phone needs, but it can be used for other gadgets including laptops. Additionally, customers will receive Honor Earbuds X5 and a free screen protector. Note that the offer in the UK differs, where a 22.5W charger is available for £3, or the 66W charger for £9 (worth £18 and £25, respectively).
