Last November, Infinix uncovered the Smart 8 with a Unisoc T606 SoC and a 13MP primary camera but today in India, the brand launched the Smart 8 with the Helio G36 SoC and a 50MP primary camera.

The smartphone also features a 6.6″ 90Hz HD+ LCD with 500 nits of peak brightness, a 5,000 mAh battery, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C, and a selfie flashlight. In addition to this, it is also equipped with DTS sound processing.

Available for INR7,499 ($90/€80), the phone comes in four different color options and will be available through Flipkart soon.

Another feature of the Infinix Smart 8 is that it comes in a single 4GB/64GB memory configuration with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 1TB. It also has the Dynamic Island-like Magic Ring feature for background calls and display battery charging status and runs Android 13 Go-based XOS 13 out of the box.

For those interested in picture quality, the 50MP camera on the Infinix Smart 8 is joined by an unknown camera, which could be an auxiliary unit, and an 8MP camera inside the centered punch-hole for selfies and video calls.
