Last week, we got a first look at what was believed to be a render of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a). However, it has since been revealed that this render actually depicts an unreleased prototype of a Nothing smartphone that never entered production. This is why the render looks so convincing.

Initially, Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) expressed doubts about the accuracy of the render, pointing out that it didn’t align with Nothing’s tagline of “See the world through fresh eyes” – a hint at the redesigned camera island of the Nothing Phone (2a) seen in other leaks.

Turns out the render of the Nothing Phone (2a) was fake

Subsequently, @OnLeaks himself acknowledged that the render was not authentic.

It is now expected that the final design of the Nothing Phone (2a) will differ from the misleading render seen earlier.
