Toyota Yaris has been around for more than a decade. It became one of the most popular city commuter cars for its decent mileage and reliability built by the Japanese automaker. Its 4th generation was launched in 2020, and Toyota Yaris facelift was launched in Pakistan in 2024, bringing notable updates and improved performance.

Engine and Performance

The Yaris sedan in this review was the top-of-the-line ATIV X variant with a black interior. Like the previous model, it has a 1.5 L in-line four-cylinder engine. However, it has been re-tuned to produce 106 horsepower and 140Nm of torque.

Yaris has been popular among the masses because of its optimal power delivery, which never feels too speedy or sluggish, unlike the GR Yaris. Besides, it gives a decent fuel economy of 11 to 13 km/l on highways and 14 km/l within the city. Having a good road presence and handling, it offers a 0 to 60 mph in 11.61 seconds.

Exterior

The previous Yaris model was no doubt heavily critiqued for its outdated styling and uplifted fascia, which the IMC Pakistan has rightly answered. This new facelift is launched with side skirts to make it look near the ground.

The projection headlamps are Bi-Xenon LEDs with DRLs integrated with the headlights. Piano black grills and fake mesh grills are added to improve aesthetics. BJ TACO Plus tires, 15-inch alloys in piano black and brushed metal add some extra oomph. Side mirrors are now retractable with LED indicators.

Plush Interior

Overall, the interior is the same, but the feel is different. Leather steering with stitching is offered in every variant in two different options: beige and black. Door padding and cabin insulation have been improved, while the old 7-inch LED has been replaced with the new 9-inch floating entertainment display. Also, it allows Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with wider connectivity options.

Follow Me Home feature has also been added, while some other notable fringes include a 12V charger, phone holder, ambient light, improved MID display, and a new design of AC vent buttons. The 476 L boot is the same as before, where you can manage your travel bags.

Safety and Technology

Another notable feature is the Yaris’ sound system, which is one of the best among local offerings. The new variant also comes with 1-way adjustable steering. In comparison with the Honda City Aspire, the Yaris offers more airbags and plenty of ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, hill assist, electronic brake division, and others.
