One of the newest features introduced to the Windows Insider program allows users to utilize their Android phone or tablet as a webcam. Windows 11 users who are part of the Insider program now have the capability to use any Android 9.0 and higher device as a webcam during video calls. To enable this feature, you must also have the Link to Windows app installed on your mobile device, with Microsoft specifying that version 1.24012* or newer is required.

Using an Android phone as a webcam with a Windows 11 PC

To utilize this feature, you need to ensure that you are a part of the Windows Insider program and navigate to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mobile devices, then select “Manage devices” and grant your PC permission to connect to your Android phone. Once configured, your Android device will display a message confirming successful connection.

Microsoft also mentions that users can switch between the front and rear cameras, apply effects, and access recent photos from their camera roll directly on their PC. Microsoft has announced that the new Insider features are currently being rolled out.
