With the rising trend of premium SUVs, luxury sports cars are also on the go. Lexus is a top-notch brand from Toyota that has delivered the best in every category. Here, we will unveil a less-known luxury model in Pakistan—the Lexus RX450hl.
Buying Decision
Rafay, the owner of this compact SUV, bought this Lexus against the Audi e-Tron or Kia Sportage as he favoured the comfort and reliability offered by Toyota. This one is a 2019 Toyota Lexus RX450hl, the top-of-the-line variant. While it is offered in other trims, too, this one offers most of the practical features rarely found in a sports car.
Design Language
On the front, it has the signature broad grille pattern along with the sleek LED DRLs and the chrome splitter. Moving to the side, there are 20-inch wheels offered with smoked chrome to enhance the road presence further. Multiple character line and an abundance of chrome give it a classic look. Where the rear profile brings a modern touch with continuous running character lines, hybrid badging, signature tail lamps, and a Lexus logo with hints of blue, indicating its hybrid technology.
Another standout feature is the swooping roofline, which adds sportiness to the overall profile. Other features are a brake light-enclosed spoiler and a diffuser.
Powertrains
The most popular Lexus RX450hl, 4th generation, was launched globally in 2015. However, this particular one is a 2019 model which is offered in 3 different powertrains. The entry-level trim comes with a 2-liter engine with FWD, the medium trim is offered with a 3.5-liter gasoline engine, eliminating the hybrid motor, and this top-of-the-line variant features a 3.5-liter engine with 2 hybrid motors paired with an ECVT transmission and offering All-Wheel Drive delivering 308 horsepower.
Plush Interior
Lexus is known for providing top-notch comfort paired with utility. Its dark brown exterior and ivory-white interior, paired with physical buttons and analogue watches and dials, make it user-friendly.
The wooden steering wheel is wrapped in leather with a wooden touch. The instrument cluster is analogue, following a rather simple MID with fuel and temperature gauges. The centre console offers a sequential gear lever, cup holders, an electronic parking brake, and three drive modes: Sport, Sport S, ECO, and EV.
Safety and Technology
This SUV is quite advanced in technology, with plenty of charging spots, a heads-up display, 10-way adjustable seats with lumbar support, a Mark Levinson sound system, 10 airbags, and a host of ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, anti-collision, and parking sensors.
Although this Lexus SUV is an underrated choice, it offers exceptional features and comfort at a price of at least 3.5 million.
