Samsung is introducing unlimited battery repairs as part of its Care+ protection plans in the US starting in May. This feature will be included in both the standard Care+ and Care+ with Theft and Loss tiers.
It’s important to note that there are two conditions to be aware of. Firstly, the monthly cost of both plans will increase by $2. Secondly, in order to qualify for a battery repair, your device’s battery health must be at 79% or lower as determined by a diagnostic test. Additionally, there should be no other damage present on the covered device. Samsung has stated that this repair service can be accessed through both walk-in and mail-in repair options for current plan subscribers.
The monthly cost of Samsung Care+ and Samsung Care+ with Theft and Loss varies depending on the device, ranging from approximately $8 to $18 per month with a three-year contract. With the addition of unlimited battery repairs in May, the monthly cost will increase to around $10 to $20 per month.
Samsung Care+ offers coverage for unlimited repairs, drops, spills, mechanical breakdown after the first year, and $29 screen repairs. It also includes next business day replacements, 24/7 expert support, convenient mail-in repair and replacement services, and the assurance of genuine Samsung parts and certified technicians.
For an additional fee, Care+ with Theft and Loss provides coverage for theft and loss of phones, tablets, and watches. The standard Care+ covers Samsung PCs and true wireless earbuds in addition to phones and tablets.
