According to unofficial sources and viral images on the internet, Hyundai Nishat Motors is all set to introduce the 7th generation Elantra hybrid in Pakistan. Prior to August 2024, we saw its test unit in Balochistan. In the last few days, Hyundai Nishat Motors uploaded multiple teasers for its new upcoming car on social media. For example, they posted a steering wheel image on their Facebook story that we can confirm was a new Elantra.
After all these hints, we can predict that Hyundai will soon be preparing to introduce the hybrid variant to the Pakistani market, reportedly at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2024, to be held from October 25th to October 27th, 2024, in Lahore.
Meanwhile, let’s examine the specs and features of an international variant of the Elantra hybrid that was introduced in the global market in 2020.
Hyundai Elantra Hybrid – Overview
Hyundai Elantra is a compact C-segment dinky sedan made for middle-class and upper-middle-class families worldwide. Introduced in the 1990s, it is currently going through its seventh generation globally. However, in Pakistan, due to inflation and low purchase value, Elantra is considered a car made for upper-class buyers.
If we compare it with other cars in the local market, one thing we must say:
“Styling and aesthetics-wise, Elantra is miles ahead of any other sedan in the Pakistani market. We have a +9999 aura for Elantra.”
It has a ton of cool, curvy stylings that make it look like an alien car from 2050, and that’s what makes the vehicle a head-turner on the roads.
Just like the exterior, the interior follows sharp curves and edges, which is a modern standard of every Cyberpunk-style car. The gear selector looks like an aircraft engine throttle lever, and there are two screens: digital instrumental cluster, which is 7.25”, and infotainment, which is 10.25” that plays Netflix and YouTube in crisp 4k resolution. The rest of the interior seems wrapped in hardcore, good-quality plastic; we don’t know its feel because this car hasn’t yet arrived in Pakistan, but it looks premium quality.
Overall, we think the Elantra hybrid generation is a super practical and solid deal from a Korean brand. The styling is sharp and head-turner, and if you like the modern Cyperpunk package, that’s the car you’ll surely enjoy.
If it’s launched at a price tag of between 7-9 million, it’ll be a deal maker!
Variant Information
So far, we know Hyundai Nishat Motors will offer two Elantra variants in the Pakistani market: a base variant and a top-line variant with add-ons. Both will be hybrid 1.6-liters.
We can’t confirm the price or the features yet; the only thing we know so far is that both will be CKDs and hybrids.
