This is good news for the people of Lahore who are planning to travel around the city conveniently. According to the City Traffic Police, Lahore Ring Road is now open to traffic.

So, if you are planning to visit the city or go out, this is an update for you.

Earlier Traffic Flow in Lahore

Earlier today, Lahore City Traffic Police shared updates regarding traffic flow in the city amid ongoing political protests. According to the force’s social media handles, the city’s entry and exit points were open this morning. “Ravi & Old Ravi Bridge and Saggian are open for the traffic. Meanwhile, commuters can travel towards Thokar Niaz Baig from Multan Road, while Raiwand Road and Ferozepur Road are also open for traffic,” the police claimed.

However, motorways, the eastern bypass, and Babu Sabu Ring Roads are still closed for traffic entry and exit. “All the interchanges are closed for traffic, and citizens should call 15 before making a travel plan,” the force announced.

Updates on Motorways

It is essential to mention that major motorways, including M-1 (Peshawar to Islamabad), M-2 (Lahore to Islamabad), M-3 (Lahore to Abdulhakeem), M-4 (Pindi Bhattian to Multan), M-11 (Sialkot to Lahore) and M-14 (Hakla to Yarik), are still closed for all traffic due to “ongoing road maintenance.” According to NHMP, commuters should plan accordingly to avoid any hassles on the road.

Meanwhile, the media reports have also claimed that the GT Road from Lahore to Gujranwala and towards Islamabad has also been shut down due to traffic at different points. The citizens may face serious issues due to blockades; henceforth, unnecessary travel should be avoided.

The whole country, especially Punjab, Islamabad, and KP, is facing traffic issues due to a political protest, as the roads are blocked in multiple places.
