Despite the fact that the OnePlus 12 is functional on Verizon, the OnePlus 12R seems to have issues with the carrier. Reports from users suggest that the phone does not work on Verizon, even though it should.
It’s worth noting that this is the first time the R series device has been launched in the US, and it seems like OnePlus was not adequately prepared for the launch. One XDA forums user has explained that all the 12Rs they purchased have an “Invalid IMEI” on Verizon.
According to reports, OnePlus customer support has been asking users to wait for over a week without a resolution. OnePlus has acknowledged the issue in a statement issued to Android Authority:
The OnePlus 12R is able to work with all major carriers and on all major 5G networks in the US, including Verizon. We are currently investigating unexpected cases that users may be having with Verizon’s network, and are working with the carrier to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, OnePlus has not provided a timeline for resolving the issue. It is possible that support for this model on Verizon will be activated, but it may not be quick and easy.
For Verizon users interested in the OnePlus 12R, it may be best to hold off on purchasing until the issue is resolved. In the meantime, you can read our in-depth OnePlus 12R review to learn more about the phone.
