If you’ve ever desired to create longer content on X (formerly known as Twitter), now is your chance. It may seem peculiar to post lengthy pieces on a platform that can remove them at will or lose interest in a new feature, but to each their own. Is this X’s response to Substack, perhaps?
Here’s the scoop. X now allows users to publish “Articles”, or longer content on the platform. The catch? You must be a Premium+ subscriber, which means shelling out $16 per month or $168 per year to X. Alternatively, you can be part of a Verified Organization.

If you meet the criteria, you can start crafting articles by selecting “Article” in the sidebar. You’ll have access to bold, italic, and strikethrough text options, as well as bullet points and numbered lists. Additionally, you can embed images and videos “to enhance your storytelling and visually engage your readers”.
An Articles tab will appear on your profile, and your articles will show up in your followers’ timelines just like regular X posts. Articles will be easily recognizable due to their unique icon and layout, designed to make your long-form content stand out. However, embedding an article only shows a link, which is a bit disappointing, isn’t it?
