The Xiaomi 14 Pro was rumored to have satellite connectivity, but the models released in China last November did not have it. This feature is only available in the Titanium clad special edition model.
Now, this model is available on Xiaomi’s online store in China with a price tag of CNY 7,000 for 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage. For comparison, the regular 16GB/1TB model costs CNY 6,000. The base Xiaomi 14 Ultra is priced at CNY 6,500, while the titanium variant of that is CNY 8,800.
The satellite connectivity is a two-way system designed for emergencies outside of normal carrier network coverage. It communicates with China’s Tiantong satellites.
It is confirmed that the Pro model will not be available outside of China. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, however, will be widely available and also has satellite communication capabilities on board.
Both phones feature the Xiaomi Pengpai T1 chip. Xiaomi has even shared a demo video of the 14 Ultra making a call over satellite in the South China Sea.
The Xiaomi 14 Pro Titanium edition uses 99% pure aerospace-grade titanium for the middle frame, as well as high-strength aluminum alloy. Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass has been used for the front and back of the phone, identifiable by the orange trim around the camera.
The camera is the same triple 50MP module as on the regular Pro, featuring a 1/1.31” sensor in the main with OIS, a 3.2x 75mm telephoto lens, and a 115° ultra wide (with AF).
The phone is equipped with a 6.73” 120Hz 12-bit LTPO display with QHD+ resolution, a 32MP front-facing camera, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It also features a 4,880mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
