Xiaomi SU7 – Overview

2019 was the year a number of new SUV models were launched in Pakistan, and 2024 has become a year in which EVs are raining. To be specific, Chinese EVs have been ruling everywhere. Diving deep, SU7 stands for Speed Ultra, and 7 is used for speed in China. This sports-cum-sedan has three variants: Basic, Pro, and Max. We have brought you the review of the top-of-the-line variant SU7 Max. As it is a CBU, it comes in a left-hand drive.

Exterior

The SU7 comes in aqua blue color with a wide and road-hugged body style. At the front, there are LED headlamps with DRLs, a piano black bumper, side air vents, and parking sensors. The side profile is enhanced through 21-inch wheels and precision Brembo brakes. Moving on to the rear, it is bulky with badges of Xiaomi and the model. In addition a multi-level spoiler has been added to complement its super-fast speed. Like other Chinese cars, this sedan also looks quite inspired by the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S.

Plush Interior

Once you step into the SU7, you will find its supreme quality and finish, starting from the door padding to the cabin’s insulation. It has FOB keyless entry and NFC, and all the doors are soft-closed. The tech side is secured with a 16.1-inch infotainment screen with 3K resolution, ambient lights, and smart house entry.

Wooden teak runs through the white interior, paired with an all-glass Alcantara roof, which enhances the overall luxurious vibe. Fatigue sensors, fridge, wireless charging, and 517 L autoboot comes as other fringes.

Range, Battery, and Performance

The Xiaomi SU7’s basic variant uses a BYD battery pack, while the Pro and Max variants use CATL batteries. It produces 101KWh AWD, 664 HP, and 838 Nm. The company claims a range of 700 km, and its charging time from 0 to 80% remains under 30 minutes.

Performance is one parameter that SU7 has surely punched hard with a drag coefficient as low as 0.195. Paired with height control, the adaptive air suspension is there to make its road presence felt.
