Xpeng, a prominent Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has made a significant leap towards the future of transportation with the successful public flight of its flying car, the “Land Aircraft Carrier,” at the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition.

This groundbreaking achievement marks a great moment in the development of personal air vehicles. The autonomous flying car showcased impressive capabilities, including low-altitude linear acceleration, spiral ascent, uniform-speed descent, and precise landing.

A Modular Approach

Xpeng’s innovative approach to flying car technology involves a modular design. The flying car consists of two primary components: the air module, responsible for flight operations, and the ground module, a traditional electric vehicle that serves as a charging station and ground transportation mode. This modular design offers flexibility and convenience, enabling seamless transitions between ground and air travel.
